brand of oil

Building a v-twin inteck just wondering what brand and wieght of oil is best in these engines for racing.

Brand and weight are not quite as important as making sure it's Synthetic rather than Fossil.

Buy the cheap stuff and change it often... Wall Mart is fine 5-30 or 10-30 whichever is on sale.

I have a 14hp v twin that says 5-30 to 10-30w synthetic oil and that's just a stock motor

WalmART FULL SYNTHETIC 5/30 or 10/30 which ever they have when ya get there. Any race motor any rpm. Its all I use and turn my iNdain 8000 rpm never had an oil failure. Its all I have used since I started racing period no matter the motor.

It's more expensive, but a full synthetic race oil is better simply because it has a higher ppm of zinc, which is part of the additive package.  The feds have decreed a reduction from 1300ppm to around 500ppm for motor oil. The racing stuff still has 1300 or so ppm. So does some of the motorcycle synthetics.
