I'm proud to announce Iowa has 2 races on the books!

June 28 and 29.  Yep double header!
Carson, Ia 
Racing at Carsons city celebration (Fourth of July stuff)
There will be free camping again this year.  I'm working on other freebies for racers!

July 26,
Mason City, Ia   North County Fair
Racing under the lights at the grandstand.


As soon as I get more info on these races I'll post it. 
Tow money will be offered at all IaLmra races again this year!
No Racer fees again this year in Iowa!

Information for the June 28-29 race!!!!!

The Carson Jubilee
Sat June 28
Practice at 5:30 pm
Heats at 6:30pm
Features at 7:30pm
We will be alternating features with the Auto Pushball game.  Thats right Auto Pushball!  A local group plays "soccer" with a giant inflatable ball and old Model A's and Model T's.  They will be set up next to our track.  They play 10 min peroids and need 10-15 min between periods to let the cars cool off.  So we will be running our features during their intermission.  They are a good group of guys and this should be fun!

There will be food and a beer garden on site.  With the beer garden I am going to have to ask that no one carry in beer, our local Legion will be running it and are trying to raise money for a new monument in the park.
After the races there are fireworks.  After the fireworks there will be a D.J. in the beer garden.  There will also be a skydive team arriving at the track sometime around 6:00pm.
There will be FREE camping at the track.  There are modern showers and bathrooms at the track that will be open for racer/family use.  We have no motels in Carson, but there are several very close.  If anyone needs one contact me and I'll get you info on a good place to stay.  We are only 25 miles from Council Bluffs and there are 3 casino's there if you are into that!

Sunday June 29.
Breakfast is being served by the volunteer firemen in the pavillion at the track.
We are the only big event on Sunday so we don't really have a set schedule.  We are planning on starting at 1:00pm.  That way everyone can get back on the road at a good time.

I am unsure what meals will be costing as the local groups are running them.  As the date gets closer I will have more information. 

No Racer Fees at this event!
TOW MONEY will be offered at this event, I don't have an ammount as of yet.

Well the Carson race is less than 30 days away!  I need a head count so I can get an idea of what we can pay for two money.  I want to pay the max ammount I can to help out with the price of gas.

Also we will be a bit cramped the first night in the pits, so I need to know how much room I need to reserve for traveling racers.  I can also reserve camping spots for racers as well.  Just elec hookups.

O.K. all our first race for 2008 is near. Here is all the info.

June 28
Practice 5:30
Heats 6:30
Features 7:30

June 29
Racing starts at 1:00

There will be food and drinks at the track Sat. Sunday morning
there is breakfast served by the local fireman. Feel free to bring
you own food. There will be a beer tent at the track Saturday
night. Fireworks at dark and a DJ by the track after the fireworks.

Camping is free, we are a bit cramped on space in the pits so PLEASE
let me know if you are coming to camp so I can make sure I have
enough space. If you want a campsite, there are sites very close to
the track with elec hookups. Conatct me on those as well, I'll get
them reserved.

NO RACER FEES FOR THIS RACE!
Tow money $75 for Iowa racers traveling 100 miles one way.
$100 for out of state racers!

Please have your dues paid before the race, it makes race day a lot
easier!

The next race for the Iowa Lawnmower Racing Assoc. will be Sat. July
26th at Mason City, Iowa. The theme for this years North Iowa Fair
is "Life on the Wild Side". Along with the lawnmower races we are
also going to have a "celebrity" race featuring personalities from
the local CBS affiliate KIMT-TV 3, the sports writer from the
newspaper Globe-Gazette and DJ's from the radio stations. Should be
some good coverage for the IaLMRA as well as the USLMRA.
The schedule is as follows:

Gates open at 3:00 pm
Tech starts at 4:00 pm
Practice at 6:00 pm
Racing at 7:00 pm

Classes will be JP,IMOW,AP,SP,CP,BP,FX

Tow money will be paid per driver to all USLMRA legal mowchines
$75 to all in state drivers over 100 mi
$100 to all out of state drivers

The North Iowa Fair is the 4th largest Fair in the state and should
be a good time for all.
