Hey Rod glad to hear you are comin. Don't worry about tech, I am sure there will be no issue's. From the looks of you guy's equipment they should pass safety no problem. As for tires I have run mower tires when a race slick went down, Jeannie has run nothing but mower tires and so have several others. We just continue to get faster and faster. And on a track like this we are leaving the tire option open for you to make your own decisions. The hoosier you spoke of should work just fine. Again it a personal call.

Glad to hear that y'all are coming. Your turf tires will work, but if you want to run the Hoosiers. I sedgiest that you run the mini cup tires in the rear. they are 15.0x7.0x8". now there are two types. One is a shorter tire. Meanig that the circ. is 15.37" on one and 15.75" on the other. so you can put in stager. My front tires are Dirt Quarter Midget tires 33.0x4.5x 6" D30 compound. I think the sise is metric, but they fit perfict on 6.5" rims. Notice the tires in my signature, those are the Hoosiers that I run. There is a Hoosier dealer in St. Catherines, Ontario. phone number is (905) 685-3184. As soon as I can get a day off from work I will have Hotel listings up plus prices. If you like NASCAR the International Motor Sports Hall of fame is right across the street from the short track, and you can also tour the Talladega Super Speedway. If there not testing. I hope you had a good Christmas and a happy new year. I'll see y'all in March. As the sign sise as youre going into the short track. Dirt Track Racing at It's Best. "Southern Style"

thanks.........going to Bicknells in St Catharines re the tires on thursday, we have an account there and they carry Hoosier. The book says 35.0/8.1-6 circumference, width 8.25 "  for 8-10" rim Compound D 30. Any help on set up is greatly appreciate, going for a good chasse set up, over brute HP George.

Your basic left turn setup. Biggest thing is ya don't run enough laps for air pressures to come up any so you start where ya want them. I run 10 left front 15 right front 15 right rear and 8 left rear. Its a forgiving track on chassis but air pressures are the key. Generally when you come out onto the track you are all bunched up you get no warm up lap it go from the get go.While we can fly down the straights we cannot carry the speed thru the corners like a kart does for obvious reasons. But man is it a thrill. Lots of fun.

OK I got some Hotel rates. All hotels are 15 minutes from the Talladega Short Track. With the exception of the Day's Inn of Linclon, Al. It is just 5 minutes from the track. If you are traviling East on I-20 take exit 168. Turn Right on to hwy 77 south. Go approximately 1 mile and turn left on to Speedway Blvd. The Short Track is approximately 4 miles on your left. Just past the Supper Spedway.
If you are traviling West on I-20. Take exit 173 turn Left go over Interstate and it will turn in to Speedway Blvd. The track will be approximately 2 miles on the right. There will also be camping at the track, but there are no hook up's. If it is like last year. You can reserve a pit stall for $20. The pits will open on Friday night. With test and tune. I highly sedgiest this, because of the amount of trailers that will be pulling in on Friday, and Saturday. As soon as I get confirmation on the reserving of pits I will post the contact number. Also I highly sedgiest that you arive on Friday night, or get here awfully early on Saturday morring. It will take you awhile to get in on Saturday, and  not much time to get set up and regester. The classes that we are runing are 1. Supper Stock/ IMOW. We will call it Supper Stock. 2. SP/Sportsman & CP/MOD-X will be called Single MOD. 3. Supper Sportsman/BP will be called Supper Sportsman. 4. FX/PRO-X will be called FX. Regardless of your mower if it meets all safty requirments it will be classed. I will hold a tech on Friday night so you won't have to worry about it on Saturday. If you arive on Saturday morring look for me. I have a white trailer with the #83 , DSLMRA, Wurth Service Supply on the side and I will do tech then. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Hey Mike, Let me know if we are going to crash at your place or camp out? So I know what to bring.

A friendly note here: I have a set of Hoosier Slicks for a 6.5" Rim I am selling. When I built my new mower I did not take my hoosiers in thought and my drag link sets below the tire. So if there is anyone who wants them let me know, they have been run five times all on clay ovals. I can still run my back ones so I plan on leeping them however if you must have the whole set I will sell complete set...
