Ok understand Vanny is best for my low buck build because they built to run good stock, witch one is the best 14-16hp or 18-20?? also how are the built Vannies running compared to intex-tecumseth-kawasakis.

Go as big as you can afford or find... ((also how are the built Vannies running compared to intex-tecumseth-kawasakis.)) Thats a loaded question. You should know everyone thinks there motors are the best regardless of brand. Where in reality they all have their good points along with some not so good.

Low-buck vanny build????? maybe rebuild.

As for the "BUILT" engines....You will get one guy telling you that the vanny is the best, then the next will say the Tech. is better, and the Kawi guys will state theirs is the one to beat.....Sorta like the Chevy, Ford and Dodge guys.

Get your racer to be safe and handle first. You can have all the power in the world and if you can't transfer that power to the track and be safe....it was just a waste of money.

Just remember that STOCK engines are just that. Made to make power to about 3600 rpm.

You might want to look into a built engine. I know Jayson Mikula can build you a built Kawasaki, George can build almost anything. Don G builds Inteks. Look into a lot of options. Jayson has won the USLMRA BP championship with a Kawasaki 2 years running. George did it the 2 years before that with a ?Vanny?. All engines have the same potential its just finding the right person that knows what they are doing to build them. Also, stock engines can be 700-900 a build engine can be 1500-3500.  for double the price you have double the power and double the reliability.

Get a good chassis. Built with the right parts, chrome molly axle, good brakes(front and rear), Strenghtin it, good steering. Then go to the enigne. Power is nothing without safety and handleing.

ok want to start looking for motor for next year /just wanted to know if in end (built)vannys were comparative to others. not going to get into this ones better than others, just wanted to know if they would run with others at same build level. know theres a lot more than motor to win, seen it at our track the top three in one class, were ones that handled the best  just dont want to get vanny then find out cant run with intex or kaws or tech because of design things.might have to run stock for while and from what ive read think vannys are best stock! please correct me if Im wrong

Your on the right track...

And your observation of the top three as chassis more than motor is also correct...

The 23 is not a big block its the small block same as the 14-20. Unless ya know what ya looking for they are hard to tell apart from the outside. The heads have a much different port design, the bore is bigger too but everything else essentially the same.
