Actually the track being rough really wasn't an issue in things. The SEMOW track has 3 turns, I came out of 3 high and wide, got to 1, which is about a 120 - 130* turn, and was shooting low across the apex of the turn to try and carry more speed than previous laps. Tagged the brakes as I came down across the track and mid-track hit a spot that was hard, flat, and slick. Rear wheels locked and it came around on me. No butt brace yet, I still have a few things to finish up on her, so I was riding over the right fender to begin with, and I honestly suspect there's a little dip middle of the turn where the beast suddenly stopped and got upside down. In looking at all of the video, on the big screen, there were a few laps I was into the throttle pretty good as I crossed that spot, and the whole machine was gettin off the ground.
After packing for the trip, Don and I finished the machine up 1 am Saturday morning. We loaded it up and I left for Jackson in a pretty good snow. I was at Keith's house Saturday evening before 6, showered, jumped into some clean duds and we were at the restaurant by 6:30. I had a little car trouble after the fact, then tipped back a few cool ones around the bonfire, and finally got to bed after a 42 - 43 hour day! The next morning was spent hunting parts for the car. So the only adjustment to the chassis was trying to get the camber somewhere reasonably close, as it's impossible to dial that in while on the jackstands.
Track would take a little getting used too, as 2 turns exceed 90*, but it has prety fair banking, and under the circumstances was in excellent shape. I think we could do much better with the chassis dialed in, tire pressures adjusted and what not, but at 485 ft. I'm thinking it's going to be a wee bit short for the cam. This thing is still pulling so hard it's unreal when you have to stand on the brakes to set up for the turn.
