Youcan effectively race a srock ungoverned FH motor and it turn to about 4600 a ohv 5200 if you get the timing and lash on the valves at the right sweet spot.

So its possible for someone to run a stock motor with no gov safely @5200 rpm's if they get the timing and lash at a good spot?

Yes, posted that in my last post.

ARC makes billet flywheels for briggs intek and vanguard V-twins. Can get them from ARC, EC Distributing, G-Team and others.

What do you have, Vanguard or Intek, that will help others help point you in the right direction.

422707-1228? If those numbers are correct, then you have a something to work with. That would be a 42 inch opposed with pressurized oiling.

The Briggs 42 CID opposed L head is not an OHV V-Twin, HUGE Difference. About the only thing in common is they both have 2 cylinders.

First thing you need to do before anything else is to get to a local small engine shop, ebay or whatever and purchase Briggs and Stratton repair manual #271172 Twin Cylinder "L" head

well i went back and check the #'s and there right because we ordered a carb overhaul kit for it so the model # is 422707 1228. Maybe someone slapped a v-twin sticker on it?  So i have a decent motor i can build off?

The heck with the stickers...

It's pretty easy to tell if you have a V-Twin or opposed motor just by looking at it...???
