Interesting Kohler Build Info
« on: October 30, 2007, 12:19:38 pm »
Was searching the web for other goodies and stumbled upon this page detailing build specs for Kohler engines for garden tractor pulling; thought some of you guys might find it of interest since the topic of Kohler builds surfaces on occasion around here.

The page appears to contain a LOT of great information on Kohler engine builds, along with a good many Kohler engine specs! Worthy enough, I felt it should be stickied here at the top of the Kohler build section anyhow, so I did!

My KOhler in my puller is a VERY stepped on K181 with carb work I learned at Brain Millers site...

Most Kohler valves can be set to 0.010" intake and 0.012-0.014" ex. depending if you are mowing grass or pulling with it.

Unless the valves were ground down on the stems then the overall length of your valves should not have changed.

here is the formula i use  number of cylinders X .7854 X bore squared X stroke = displacement
