Midwest Build Clinic
« on: October 17, 2007, 12:07:34 am »
Gentlemen Start your Engines

Looking forward to the up and coming 08 racing season, along with the up and coming racing season new builds are in the making as we speak. So HEY!! We got 2 future Local Chapters starting, South Dakota and Montana. Also we can’t forget about the new Affiliated Clubs. Heck we don’t even need to stop there, any group or club that is interested can show up and learn how to build a safe mower. Let’s have a build clinic! We all know there is going to be questions.

We are looking at putting on a Double Header here racers/builders! But there won’t be any tow money for this one boyz & girlz. This will be a double header Build Clinic that will include G-Team Chassis and G-Force Racing Engines.

Who? Don G from G-Team Racing

What? Double Header Build Clinic, G-Team Chassis and G-Force Racing Engines

Where? Southeast South Dakota (will give directions when we decide which weekend).

When? Well that depends on the interest we get but there are 3 weekends Don G and myself have pin pointed.

1.   January 12th and 13th
2.   January 20th and 21st
3.   February 9th and 10th

We would like to have a date picked out by November, so I would like for anyone interested to contact me before then so I can decide when to set a date.

Hey Everyone

Just wanted to make a note to all that are trying to plan coming out to the build clinic. Don G said that the weekend of January 20th will not work. I will have date set by November, so if your interested stay tuned.

Will keep this post up to date.

Well, here we go boys and girls.

Wow its already November 1 my how the time has flown, just yesterday I was my way to my first build clinic in Iowa. Now its time for one in South Dakota, February 9th will be the date for the first ever build clinic here in South Dakota. Mr. Don Gienger himself will be the man of the day here folks.

Don't forget about the swap meet either, bring your mower racing items you wouldn't mind parting with tranny's, engines, tires, rims, or what ever else you have room for. Mower the less the swap time will be during break or after the show.

When we get closer to this date I will post hotel info/ directions to the facility.

Any questions before then let me know.

Here we are December 1st with snow on the ground here in South Dakota and our nieghboring states.

I called today to the Kelly Inn in Yankton (in my opinion the nicest hotel in the area) and reserved a block of 10 rooms and I can reserve mower if need be. I have these rooms blocked off for Feb. 8th and 9th. This is a pretty decked out place where we can all meet up and grab a bite to eat and have a few drinks at a pretty fair price. There will be an inclusive price of $67.07 king or double.

Best Western Kelly Inn Yankton
1607 East Hwy 50 • Yankton, South Dakota 57078
Phone: (605) 665-2906 • Fax: (605) 665-4318

Block Name: Midwest Build Clinic

Also let them know wheather you are staying one or both nights.

Thanks

Directions to the Build Clinic from the Best Western in Yankton.

The Build Clinic will take place at RPM Unlimited in near by rural Volin South Dakota area, and will commence at 8 a.m. No tools will be needed, we should have everything taken care of from that stand point. There will be a clinic fee of around $10, which will include a catered meal and drinks for the day. Your encouraged to bring a side dish or desert.

Don't forget about the swap meet, and I spoke with Don last night and he wanted me to remind everyone to order their parts now before the clinic and he will hand deliver them to save on shipping.

Start: Yankton Kelly Inn turn right (east) on SD Highway 50 to CR 448th Ave.
(Approximately 6.5 miles) turn left (north) on CR 448th Ave. to CR 304th St.
(Approximately 7.0 miles) turn left (west) on CR 304th St to 447th Ave.
(Approximately 1.0 miles) can’t miss it 2 large metal buildings and a row of grain bins.

Parking will be on the south side of the shop building across the driveway. Please do not park in front of the doors or on the concrete.

Hello Heymow

Just wanted to let everyone know that is attending the Build Clinic they are welcome to bring their mower to the build clinic if they so choose so. Midwest Mow and Shine, perhaps we will have a vote for best looking mower or something. Biggest goal here is to perhaps have a mower from every class. We have plenty of room to show off a few mowers.

Also remember about the swap meet, and get your orders in to the Donmownator so he can play santa at the build clinic.

Thats it for now.

Thanks

Brian,
The boys from SW Iowa will be there.  Probably won't be there at 8 but we will be there.  We will have to come home that night as well, my dad is leaving on his sled trip that day so I need to be home to do chores!  Will be traveling cheep so probably won't be bringing any mowers unless you NEED them.  I'll give you a call next week!

Just wanted to touch base one last time with heymow before I set up the catered stuff. Let me know, for those of that have replied to me you will be fed... For those of you that haven't well you may have to eat snow we have plenty of it. There will be a clinic fee of around $10, which will include a catered meal and drinks for the day. Your encouraged to bring a side dish or desert.

Thanks
