hey guys i have a 15 hp kohler engine and it had some carbon under one valve so i took it off cleaned up the valves and seats laped them in and then put it all back together and now it wont start and it back fires through the carb.

What method did you use to adjust the valves?

it has hydraulic lifters and their is no adjustments on the valves

well if anyones wondering i bleed the lifters and it fired right up what a deal

Yup you are supposed to install the lifters then let motor set for 30 min.s or so to allow lifters to bleed off then start.

If racing I would use solids, you will feel the difference with no other change. Have to stay on top of the lash regularly.
