What happens when

This post is to show what happens when you get cheap,stupid,or just dont know at least if your reading this the last doesnt apply youve been WARNED 1st pic is a bulge in the block a 12hp flat briggs IC model 28a707. 2nd pic isthe resulting oil leak. 3rd pic just a diffrent angle of the block. 4th pic is the syncro block thats what bad design followed by weak part replace the locator if you plan on running no govenor or with any other mods arc makes a billet locator this wouldnt have happen and ruined everything the rest of the pics are of the desruction.....

Not rippin' on anyone in particular, but if your serious about your build, you'll remove the syncro and have the rotational mass balanced.

yeah true this is more of don't do what i did because of ignorance i know now about brass balancers billet dog bones and independent balancing just informational only...

That's not bad!!!!  They ususally blow the enire back of the block off!

Your right, at the very least you need to have the billet dog bone from ARC.

Unless they've come out with a new one, the ARC Brass Counterweight won't work on the synchro balanced crank, the crank has to be machined to use them.

Rocky,
Some do and some don't.  Some cranks have removable lobes on the crank.  Just pull them off and press on the brass weights.

Yes, those cranks are usually found in the briggs engine with a model # of 280707or 281707  :D

that block can be fixed easy :D as long as the crank bearings and crank bearing housings are still good.
