Wow, thats a large crowd. Is it grouped with other races?
That looks like a great track, and those are some fast mowers.

This race is the open class of the Alleghny Mower Racing Association we usually have about 150-180 mowers and have had as many as 220 mowers and 5000+ people in the stands to watch.  We are a outlaw club with no ties to ARMA or USLMRA.  The AMRA is base out of Sparta NC and we race in Sparta NC, North Wilkesboro NC, Galax VA,  Statesville NC and a few other special event through the year.  http://alleghanymowerracingassociation.com/

So that track is built just for mower?
Looks like the entire town gathers for the races, thats awsome.
I noticed a lot of the Alleghny mower are very large and long when compared to USLMRA mowers, like a tiny FX.

Well its a chance for everyone to show off there mowers and to see what everyone else is about. Make new friends and to show everyone that Lawn Mower racing is huge in the south and we can all come together in one place and have a ball. While only the ARMA classes will be trophied. This could be the start of something big. I hope to do this annually if attendance is good. AND there could be some door prizes available for those not in the trophy classes. I am still working on this possibility. The point is I want to get everyone together even if its just this one time. Its centrally located so no one has to travel BIG hours only ones that won't have to travel a bit are the Goodners cause its on there property. I have never been on the track just the locals there have. None of my racers have been on it. So its good neutral track turns are big and wide and should make for a good race for the JED type mower's (Jed group extends there wheel base) and good straights to show some HP. So follow the link above tell everyone ya know and make plans tto be there.

George Thats the idea FUN. Putting the fun back into it and breaking down the walls between outlaw and sanction and inlaws and so on. We can all race together at least once a year. Thats my game plan anyhow.

I have raced a whole season with AMRA and I have had a real good time! We always seem to have real tight and clean racing,in every class! Anybody  that wants to race should come check us out next year!!!!
