i have a 14 horse ohv Kohler command engine and was wondering if this would be good for racing? i was told it needed a new valve because the aluminum one in the engine would melt at high rpm's that we run at

I have been in quite a few kohlers over my years of grass cutter repair, and I have yet to see an aluminum valve. As to whther its will be good for racing. Can't say with out knowing what rules your sanctioned racing group goes by or the class you want to participate in.

well In the organization and class i run in, we are allowed up to 18hp (OHV ENGINES MUST BE STOCK) and i run a kohler command 18. I am one of the top drivers and am the only one running a command. thats just my opinion, I Only race kohlers.

Go there and browse around. Kohler factory support is unmatched, at least for factory specs and repairs.

Unless you plan on running a charging system, all the wires that go to the rectifier(the thing on the shroud) will be eliminated when you take the stator out. Then about all you have left is the wire to kill the engine.

We are a kohler dealer. I need model and spec number to ensure we get the right one.
