Are there any 14 hp opposed twins that have a pressurized oiling system?

I havent ever seen a pressure lube 14hp but I have a 14hp splash lube engine. A 14hp is a 40 cube motor. Same as a 12.5-16.5. There all the same engine. Just a different sticker depending on the mower brand. So technicaly a 16hp 40 cube with pressure lube could be passed as a 14 with the right engine tin on it. All you need is a correct model number. My 14 is a 400707. Put the right number in there and you have a 14 pressure lube engine.

In the case of the 400707, it would have to be a 400777 to be pressure lube on a vertical, horizontal would be 400747.

That is interesting cause the motor that I have has tins on it that say it is a 14 but the first number in the serial number is 42 and the last three numbers are 777 so is it just a 18 that has 14 tins on it?

That is entirely possible, however...

Horsepower rating is a mysterious thing when it comes to Briggs, you'll find the same CID often covers a broad range of horsepower ratings. dependent upon specs supplied by the company building the mower. For instance the 28 CID Flathead has been rated for everything from 8hp up to 15hp. The 44 CID Intek V-Twin, is rated from 20hp up to 26hp. And, that is the reason many devout racers and engine builders refer to these engines by CID rather than horsepower.

What changes are made to effect the change in horseopower rating... carb adjustments generally, slight changes in timing, and on very rare occasion a little different cam. Otherwise they're all the same. It wouldn't surpise me in the least to see the 42 rated 14hp - 18hp honestly.

Thanks that helps alot cause one of my coworkers is trying to tell me that what I have is a miss labeled engine. So I actually know that he is full of crap and there really is a 14 hp that is 42 cubes with a pressureized oil system.
