Kohler Command 14
« on: July 04, 2007, 04:26:03 pm »
hello my kohler command 14 is running out of power because there is no muffler. can someone find me one of them for free or cheap. Also starting it is a real problem it wont suck the gas into the carb. I have to spray some gas or starter fluid then it will start and run fine.

Sound's more like you need some new rings or the valves aren't seating right.

It does not need new rings it has GREAT compression and i don't think there is a problem with the valves it just needs a muffler and it leaks out of the carb bowl i think that just needs a new gasket.

Whell does it leak. Is there a big hole in it. I can prolly fix it it just has a weird end that mounts to the engine. It is not the normal size.

It doesnt leak, i also have just the pipe that fits onto the engine without the muffler.  this is for a verticle shaft engine isnt it?

Yes it is. How much would you want for the part that goes right onto the engine

My Kohler has less than a foot of exhaust and it starts every time with no hesitation at all. I think that you need new ring.

No if some of my rings are bad i would have low compression. I have great compression. I know for sure that the carb needs rebuilt cuse it leaks. It needs a new bowl gasket and then i have NO MUFFLER that is why it is loosing all the power.

does your kohler also have a fuel pump?

If you build it, it should fly.
take it out and let it eat...

anyways, you just want the manifold pipe that conects to the engine,  or do you want the muffler too?

If im right, the exhaust port is under the head of the engine and uses two bolts to hold it in place right?
