Tachometer hook up
« on: July 01, 2007, 02:27:51 pm »
Should I go with a tiny tach or something else? I really thought it would be cool to have a gauge tachometer because it would look sweet and be easier to see and I think it would be hard to see a digital tach when Im running because of the vibrations and I cant see that well anyway. Any suggestions or ways I can rig up a gauge tach?
Speed costs money....I dont have either xD

If you want a decent guage tach, the Equus tach is my favorite, it works great and is really easy to hook up.

When your racing there is no time to be looking at a tach. But I do reccomend a DIGITRON product. Have used them in the past and currently use one on my racer!

I use a digatron as well, and I agree I don't think I've ever looked at the tach while racing but the max recall and exhaust temp is a must for fine tuning and you can get some good used digatrons on ebay once in a while.    Ryan

there is a digital tach carried by either Medart or Oscar Wilson motors that is just a one wire hookup. Kinda pricey, (about $45) but for a simple setup, it doesn't get better. it's a digital box about 1.5"x2"x1/2"
