12hp tecumseh valve settings

does anyone know what the intake and exhaust valve settings are suppost to be for a 12hp tecumseh?

You're talking about the gap between the rocker arm and the valve stem, right?

On the Honda engines we have been running we set the valves at .003 cold and when the engine is warm because of it being an aluminum block the clearance grows to .005 . A friend that we know who builds honda kart engines also has a dyno and he said that he has noticed more power by setting the clearance at .000 and it grows to .003 when hot. So we started setting ours at .ooo cold.

Maybe so but the qustion was on a tecumseh. As for setting the valves different you are playing with cam timing and where and how the valves open. Can builders recommendations for valve setting shopuld be followed for optimum performance.

I understand but I was just wondering if because it was an aluminum engine if the principal would be the same set the valves at say .003 cold and get.005 hot ?
