A lot seem to like the cheapy mower's like the MTD's, Craftsman, Dynamark, murry's. I guess because there simple and light? Maybe an easy platform to work off of?

I like the box fame MTD's once stripped it is very open easy to work on and I have won the Nationaql BP points title the last two years running.

I like my mid-80's Murray... it seems to be a good frame to work with.
Once you strip off a couple of things like the the heavy seat panel/rear fender and mount something else in there you can lose a bunch of weight as well.
