Crocco58 has one of those. The retainers and rockers look pretty weak.

I have the same year, model 310707, ran about twenty laps before the intake valve was punched through the head.

You're going to have to do valve work! Give Don or George a shout, they're bad about dropping the intake valve. Retainers need to be changed for one thing! George mentioned it in a thread just the other day, but I can't for the life of me recall which one.

The stock valves are pretty good I have turned em 7000 no problem. Stock springs and retainers have to go though. Simply will not hold up to the racing. We sell a dual spring and billet retainer kit you can use the dual springs as a whole or remove the inside and run just the outer. Running both some work is involved on the head.

Where can I buy a set of springs and retainers? Could you run the stock springs with the different retainers?

No, you can not. Give George at Ec distributing a call he  can set you up with dual springs with billet retainers for $30

Are the springs and retainers all I would have to do to run the motor? I'm sure there is a lot more I can do but to get the motor up and racing will this be enough?

Your best bet would be to either send it to Don at g-team, or George H.
