Push rod length

Looking for some advice on how to measure and install the cut to fit chrome moly push rods on a vanguard engine, thanks

Use a 1/4 solid rod and cut till it's the right length then measure.

I use the aluminum push rod cut it take about.375 out of it ,then thread both ends and use a 1/4×20 union nut.Now you have an adjustable push rod to measure the proper length

Thanks for those tips!  I'm at that point with an INTEK 44.  The pushrods are smaller in diameter than those in a Model 31, so a 1/4" die barely marks them.  I'm on the hunt for a 10-24 die, but might give the solid barstock method a go.
To be sure of the objective of this exercise, we are aiming for the rocker arm to be at 90 degrees to the rocker arm stud when on the base circle (valve closed) part of the cam.  Correct?

90 degrees of the valve. That is the centerline of the pivot and the center of the tip.

as my earlier post said,use the stock 44 aluminum push rod to cut and thread 1/4"x20 die,very simple task
