venting a carb?and removing choke _13.5 ohv single
« on: September 03, 2017, 05:23:25 am »
I finally got a Lmt walbro carb. I plan on replacing my Nikki with it. Its missing a bowl and choke rod (I'm assuming that the name). So I'm gonna order the bowl n get an adj.needle & velocity stack from E.c._ while waiting I was wondering about venting the carb ,seen videos on it but no one really says the point of it._what's the benefit of doin this?any cons? And the same questions about removing the choke. Thanks for any input

Yes remove the choke, just fill the hole. On the venting part the only reason I know of is IF you are using a fuel pump. The vent will allow the excess fuel to leak out the vent if it over flows the bowl instead of flooding the carb.

So is there no reason to vent if I'm not running a pump?  when I'm removing the choke do I just remove the choke and fill the holes were the  rod goes thru?

How much fuel comes out? Sounds like a fire hazard.how often an much does a carb flood with a pump.will a pump be necessary for a mild mod engine ? Soryy for all the questions guys ,just wanna get it right
