New to mowers driveline help
« on: July 05, 2017, 04:23:07 pm »
Well I have a long history or racing atv, motocross and sxs and now getting into mowers. Up here in Canada our local event have an open class so can do pretty much anything as long as it's got a hood. I was thinking of running a 1 1/4 axle with either a RAGB or LAGB. Do I need to run a cvt system with that off of the motor? Could anyone point me to right direction or forums I've been reading these this forum for a few days and haven't found the right awnser dummy version lol. and my mower has a 16hp twin

If your gonna my to run the vertical shaft you are on the right track.  I wouldn't run a CVT but I'd would run a centrifugal clutch.

The best option is to get a horizontal shaft engine and run a jack shaft.  Run the centrifugal clutch on the engine.

Welcome to the forum. Tons of great info here, just not a lot on the new fxs/fxt classes because there's not near as many people on here as there used to be. There are still a few great build in the build section though.

I think it's vertical. The shaft and pulley is on the bottom and where would I get a centrifugal clutch
