1" brake kit on 3/4 peerless 600 axle?
« on: December 13, 2016, 01:26:21 pm »
Hello all,

I'm starting the build list for my first race mower which is a Jd262/ kawi fc540 motor and a peerless 600 trans. I've been searching bmi, ec, and some other places on hubs and brakes and I was wondering about running the bmi 1 inch brake kit using a keyed converter bushing on my 3/4 inch axles in the 600.. is this doable or should I go ahead and have a 1 inch solid axle machined for it? I'm trying to keep this build as low cost as possible.

Thanks!

I've seen it done and as long as it is a good piece you will be fine.

Would I trust it?  No

Although others have and have had good success with it.
