Looking for suggestions as to what size pullys to use on jackshaft.
Engine has 51/2 in pully, 820 transaxle has 41/2 in.
What size on jackshafts?
Engine is Briggs OHV 15.5

We use 5" pulleys on one of our setups. We tried 3" before and had a lot of belt slippage. We also run a 5/8" belt on top more durable.

Does the 820 have the 017 kit in it?
6" engine, 6" trans, 4" bottom of jackshaft and 4" or 4.25" on top, track dependant.
We used only 1/2 Gates predator belts on some serious V-twins with clowns like Gary P. and myself at the wheel with no issues.

What is your final gear ratio on this redline? I dont have 017 kit.

Dont know, never bothered to do the math! I dont think Bert ever did either.
Never used a tach either. Just went by the "does it sound right, and does it pull to the end of the straight" approach.

We were around 6 or 7 to one in our "race" gear. Revs were about 7000 smiles per minute, sometimes a little more. Ed-" Does it sound okay?"  Me-" yup. Is it pulling hard?"  Ed- "Yup." Me-" Okay, we're ready to go."
