Briggs & Stratton 12.5hp Intek upgrades?
« on: August 10, 2016, 02:52:26 pm »
Hello there guys and girls. I recently got a nice condition used Snapper mower from my Dad. Probably not planning on racing this one (though I'd love to race if I find something else front-engined in the future) but I'd still like to get as much "oomph" out of it as humanly possible.

Bear in mind I'm not talking about speed necessarily. I understand that the mower's speed will be more dependent on the gearing than anything else and since I'm keeping it as a mower I'm not very worried about that. I'd prefer torque over speed. What I'm looking into is anything for the ENGINE to help produce a little more power. Are there any bolt-ons whatsoever that give a little extra power to these engines? Intake, exhaust, coil, etc...?

I tried Google, Ebay, and Amazon but since I don't know exactly what I'm looking for (how to look up stuff for this specific engine) I couldn't even find a better muffler or a higher flowing air filter.

Any help appreciated. Thanks!

IS this for cutting grass?
If so, use the 12.5 for a door stop and install a larger engine at 3650 rpm.
