Questions about exhaust
« on: July 04, 2016, 04:49:01 am »
Anyone know any tricks for getting out old rusty manifold bolts? I sprayed em with penetrating oil and got one loose but the other one is pretty rusty. The stock muffler is shot where the pipe meets it is busted and the pipe coming out of the muffler is completely gone. I've seen some pictures here and there of guys using non galvanized steel pipe that was threaded. Would it flow as good? Would it be okay if I just cut my pipe off at the manifold and weld a chunk of ^ pipe and then figure out what elbows and pieces I would need to route it? Or is there an easier cheaper way of doing it?

I have a old trick, heat the bolt as hot as you can get it (without melting it) wait a moment to let the heat soak I then pour cold water on it. Do that 3 times and remove bolt. That is a old trick used for loosing  wheel cylinder bleeders, works almost every time.
