Hello from Michigan
« on: May 31, 2016, 10:19:05 pm »
Hi I'm Rob,

I was looking for something that would, in terms of long term costs, be more budget friendly than the autocross racing that I do now. Racing karts and the required safety gear, cost more than my autocross car, including its maintenance and what few modifications I've done over the past 4 years!

I did a little research, found out about mower racing and, I picked up an old 80's murray 11 for free. I'm not sure if it'll work for what I need, I figured I'd get some opinions and learn a bit before I get any further than the tear-down.

I'm from the Cedar Springs/Grand Rapids area, not sure what's out here that's somewhat local for clubs/associations/chapters/etc. The only info I could find with google was all outdated.

As Big T said, potterville would be track to go to. Iam a newbie that came into this at the end of last year,i searched the forums, looked at the rules and the builds, then went to a race and was sold! I bought a turn key tractor with the help of the club members, and I was knot disappointed.

Dang, I was really hoping there would be something a little closer, but it looks like that's my only option.

Anyways I've got another person offering me a free (broken) mower, a Craftsman ys4500(not sure on year, but newer), are these mowers any decent for super-stock?
