Briggs 33ci single head?
« on: May 19, 2016, 02:56:47 pm »
I have a stock 33 that I am I talking the billet flywheel onto with stock everything else.  What would be the most I could cut the head to up the compression at tad without throwing the rocker geometry off?  I am building a motor for the local Outlaw class and this is just a motor to run to keep the field numbers up while I complete the race engine.  I was thinking of cutting no more that .020-.030 off.

I was able to take .080 off and still used stock rockers and push rods but this was on 31 non avs. Should be the same . One was built and other was stock, with shaved head and billet flywheel .

When we ran Briggs singles, we had .125" hacked off with stock rockers.

This motor will be stock except for billet wheel, balanced crank and carb.  I thought I had read you could cut .125" off and still use stock stuff
