Peerless 700 2 or 4 key

Is it possible to run only two keys on a four key shaft? Bought a set of 4 and was thinking I could just install 2 and have spares. Just curious if this is feasible or if you must run 4 keys.

I'd always had better luck with four keys it's a lot harder to shift but never had a failure running 4 keys .
