Help with trans choice.
« on: March 29, 2016, 08:01:28 pm »
Building a fun around the house ride. Chassis is a 2011 Troy Bilt Pony. 17.5 super single, 7 speed verible pulley trans.   From reading the trans is not worth much as far as this project goes. Motor I am I using is a GS450 inline two bike motor(44hp) with 6 speed trans. I'm wondering if a trans axle can hold this power? I'm looking at a GT6000 trans, I hear these are stout and I can get one. I'll have super low gears, along with enough to have speed up high. 12 in all. Can they hold this power? Or is live axle with chain drive only option?

NO MOTORCYCLE ENGINES ARE LEGAL FOR LAWNMOWER RACING, SO WE DON'T MIX THEM IN. RULES STATE YOU HAVE TO USE LAWNMOWER PARTS, SORRY JUST THE WAY IT IS!

It's not really a build for racing. Joined here because y'all have the knowledge for my build.
