On page 13 of the 2016 Rule book an illustration is given to clarify the dimension of "Nerf Bars" that can be mounted to the running boards.   I can NOT read the dimensions.  When I zoom in the pixels are so messed up I still can't read it.  Can someone put up a clearer picture that shows the dimensions better?  Thanks.

:censored: on the front bumper deal. I have already broken my back once because of my own stupidity. I have destroyed my egg-shell craftsman hood countless times.

But that was at speeds under 30 MPH.

I can understand the reason for this decision. Heck I'm even for it ONLY in that regard. HOWEVER the disadvantages of NOT having a front bumper for speeds in excess of 40 MPH far outweigh the need to remove it.

BUT

There's the "Moron Factor". Those who must push and shove. Those who have little to no experience with high-powered machines trying to either win before lap 2, or trying to beat that seasoned racer by any means necessary. Or just simply caught up in the moment, full of adrenaline, and take too big a risk for pride's sake, we've all been there.

My prediction is that the USLMRA will get the results it is seeking. A cleansing, if you will, is going to take place. But there will be very few racing in the FXS-T classes at the national level, unfortunately. After 2 seasons, the bumper will likely return, BUT ONLY with good self-policing, strict policies regarding black-flagging/expulsion etc. will this happen. So don't grind those spuds off just yet. The track workers will NEVER catch it all. It's up to us... :twocents:

I think fx should of not been cut since it's one of the classes that started uslmra.  I know the count is low but if one shows up just let him/her run with sp.  Don't remove it

I'd assume the old FX machines will run with FXS.

Based on racer comments regarding the use of front bumpers in the FX/S and FXT Classes, and the discovery of new safety information that has been brought to our attention, please note this new language in the 2016 USLMRA Rule Book, which takes effect January 31, 2016. Revised Rule Book will be posted ASAP.

REVISION, DATED JANUARY 31, 2016: For the 2016 racing season that front bumpers WILL BE AUTHORIZED in the FXS and FXT classes. Safety depends on drivers looking carefully at “their” driving habits and respecting other racers in these classes. We have also read numerous positive comments and these drivers have also commented on their safety concerns. Bottom line is to police yourselves and drive with common sense and remember your only racing for a $15-$25 trophy.
If you are concerned that your mower may not be compliant, we strongly urge you to contact one of our National Staff Members IN ADVANCE OF TRAVELING TO A RACE. Tech Inspection and adherence to the Rule Book will be followed more stringently this year.
Thank you, and have a fun, safe racing season.
