« on: January 04, 2016, 10:56:11 pm »
Has anyone used these non contact photo lazer tachs for tech checking rpms. currently i use a tiny tach dont know if anyone has tried any other tachs with good success. ive found the tiny tachs to be off as much as 40 rpm.

Our track use to use one.   It was OK.  About as accurate as a tiny tach.

Get a good tach.  If you want accuracy you need quality.

Guess I don't even know the brands of tachs we use.  I've teched our local track and used the USLMRA tach and I've never looked at what they are.

Sorry!!!

This is what i use for work and tech. http://www.amazon.com/Oppama-Pulse-Engine-Tachometer-PET-1000R/dp/B008G47NHU

it work great you need to be 1-2in from the plug wire or use the clip adaptor. the refresh rate is a little slow you need to take your time to read the accurate rpm
