compression vs flow
« on: November 02, 2015, 08:06:32 am »
I have read about useing a Briggs 10hp head on a 12hp block to increase compression. Since this also reduces the intake and exhaust area, is it worth it?

Not in my opinion.
If you quit when you're behind, you will never win.

When it comes to flatheads, flow comes before compression

DO YOU MEAN A 11hp HEAD? THAT IS COMMON TO DO. SOME BELIEVE IT HELPS AND OTHERS DO NOT. IT WILL RAISE COMPRESSION. MOST DO WORK AROUND THE VALVES TO INCREASE FLOW AND USE THE 11hp HEAD TO PUT COMPRESSION BACK TO WHERE IT WAS. HOPE THIS HELPS.
