I'm an 11 HP in a stock modified class is an open header the best kind of exhaust ? I know some engines like a little back presure .Also should I advance the timing if so how much and is it worth it

An open header does cause back pressure ,if you need more power you have to advance the timing .The factory timing is good for about 3000 RPM,you will be running it at least twice that
