« on: May 05, 2015, 06:33:04 am »
I'm try to get a racing mower going for the first time I've run in to a fairly large issue. I have a Briggs 11 hp and the key on the the crank is only 5/32 all the after market pulleys are 1/4 key way has any one else run in to this problem and how do i fix it.  This is a non I/C engine i do i have an I/C engine would it have a bigger key way ?

Make a "step" key, take a peive of 1/4" key stock and cut throuh half of the stock to get to 5/32. best done bt macne shop, or have crank cut for 1/4: key

Most Briggs have the 1/4 inch crank keyway for the most part it was only the smaller motors that had smaller keys.  You can get keyway with 2 different sizes it will be more expense but a lot cheaper than re keying the crank.
