Free craftsman lt1000 racer build
« on: January 27, 2015, 06:28:31 pm »
SO I recently got a free Craftsman LT1000 and decided to build a racing mower.  It runs and drives and has everything stock with a 19.5 twin motor.   I am from the Quad city Area Iowa, and not sure of my closest club to use rules and regulations.  So now from all you experienced racers what's next to build this racer.  Any and all comments are welcome.  I am still trying to figure the best way to post pics as well ( those suggestions are welcome to).

Your in a great spot.  There is a club in central iowa and another across the river in Illinois.
So depending on how far you want to drive your sandwiched between 2 great clubs.

Build to USLMRA rules. That is what everyone in this area runs.  Go to letsmow.com download the rules.  Read them several times before you do anything to your mower.

Set a budget and go from there.
