MOVE THE SHIFTER ONE WAY IT'S ENGAGED, THE OTHER WAY IT'S NOT [IN NEUTRAL]

Do you have any pictures of your kit? Is it anything like Rocket Ron's single speed peerless?

So it would be having one gear set on the shift shaft and counter shaft(25-25), and where all the other gears were would be peerless 700 spacers in its place?

Yes one gear on each shaft and custom made spacers to take the space where the other gears are. It uses solid shift keys.

Interesting. I may need to get one of those in the future. I had heard that it was better to have the gear set in the center of the trans case rather than on the end of the shafts. Have you had any failures with this set up?

none to date.
I did most of the testing in a modxr about 5oo laps on the same set of keys and gears. I took that same tranny and put it in my new SP and it ran 3 races this year with no problems.  I now have the kit in a super sportsman and modx with no reported failures yet.
I suppose I could put the gears any place I wanted. It was just easier out on the end and thus cheaper to make the parts.

In this set up you absolutely have to have the 25 to 25 steel gears. The solid keys will turn the powdered metal gears in to lots of little pieces!

I also make a kit for the EC tranny too.

Technically speaking, what's being described here bears little resemblance to a sprint or midget in/out box. It's just a single speed transmission. In the mower set-up, you still have a clutchable belt. Sprints and midgets are direct drive with no clutch, thus the need for push starts.

So still within rules for all classes? because it's shifts to neutral , using a transmission and a manual clutch. You could probably notice a difference from 5 gears and a chain (rev) vs 1 gears set? Cost some money in a bunch off sprocket combo' s.
