You're using brakes on the front wheels?  Talk about major stopping power

It can make all the difference in the world if you can go just a bit deeper into the corner
-OR-
some people have thier chassis setup so that just a tap on the front brake set's you up for getting on the gas (if even letting off) earlier than the next guy.

Lap after lap this advantage makes a huge difference.

I'm anxious to see pics of that setup.  What kind of brakes can you use?  Is there a kit for this?

Thanks guys

Yeah Lee I talked to Don down there in Iowa. I didn't know if anyone else out there had a super deal they had found. Thanks for the imput.

And for the idea of stopping power, well lets just say its like going fast you can never slow down fast enuf. Also another benefit is it looks cool as heck, and yet has a function.

Thanks for the suggestions on brakes, I have made my decision. You guys will find out when I get them what brand they will be.

On to the other accessory that is pretty much an essential for insurance purposes for my engine, a digital Tachometer. Again suggestions are highly appreciated; I have looked at some but just want to see if anyone has any suggestion or awesome deal before I buy one. This tach just needs to show RPM’s and cylinder head temp, I see they have them out there with the lap timer really is it worth it. I could see where it would help if we had to qualify. I'm assuming lap timers do not work unless you buy a beacon. Digitron is the only company that I have been lookinga at, anyone else know of any other companies out there that make these.

There are some simple units like this one for $36

Hey Don,
do you have pneumatic  brake systems? I'm trying to go with a mechanical setup which is proving to be a pain in the rear so far. pneumatic  would be easier to deal with.

Yeah Hydraulic.
www.btsbrakes.com or www.qrckarts.com are sites to check out. I am their only lawn mower dealer.  :P
Now you need prices on front or rear or whole kits let me know.
Call 701-400-4084 9 am to 2 pm week days ONLY.  :woo:
You can e mail gteam@qwest.net too.
Front brakes are held on by two set screws and you need to put a keyway in your front spindles. That's what keeps them in place. They take up as much room on a Azusa spindle as the nylon spacer and hub would. Remove the Nylon spacer and cut a key way or do like I do and mount the brakes and run your lines. I use fittings and Earl's Stainless Steel Braided lines. The hub has 5/16 studs unlike the usual kart stuff with 1/4 studs.
While most brakes are made for karts that reach speeds of 60 plus MPH know this one thing about BTS brakes. The Karts you see that they have run a 50 HP Honda Motor and a 100 HP Honda motor on them 12 Burris/QRC tires. Their Brakes have to work GOOD!!! :3gears:
Hope that helps
Don
PS Bead Locks are the way to go too. I am getting the guys at BTS to do rims for us mower guys. Sure spendy but no flats and no turning tubes from running low pressures.
