Scurry Murry, I like your ride. I hauled a vehicle for my assistant's husband (he hit a deer) and he gave this mower and filled my truck back up with gas. Keep us posted on all of you progress. I will be keeping the vented hood (no sponsors) but I would like to find some of the side plates like yours.

The rear end is smashed in and rusted so I will be looking for a new rear fender. I like the one George used and that is what I will be looking for.

It even came with a mowtor! :D

Again great mower! and tools too!

Thanks Skeeter, I like your craftsman too.

The build clinic was awesome...

600 miles 1 tank of gas-- $70 bucks
1 hotel room-- $58.00
Meeting new friends and learning how others designed there mowers--- PRICELESS

Thanks Iowa boys for providing the location and Don & Lee for the excellent presentation..

Special Thanks to Lee for the DVD of the Finals...

Hey Skeeter I wouldn't run side covers they add weight and keep the heat in.

Winter storm is rolling in, the gods are telling me to get snowed in and get something done on my mower.  10 inches of blowing snow should do the trick, hopefully the power doesn't go out. Rain is spose to come before the snow. Sunday will bring updates of the progess I have made. Talk to yall then....  I'm gonna go get lost in the shop.

Geeze did you guys clone my MTD??  Only difference is mine doesn't have the side panels under the hood, 31cu.in. 17.5horse OHV, and yours is a HECK of alot nicer than mine... plus yours is modified, mine is just has an exhaust.  I'm definetly gonna be watching your guys' posts for ideas because when I start my build someday, I'm goin gungho.

Well... It might not look like I got a lot done since the last time I have posted some pics but some of these pieces of the puzzle are time consuming...

Some pics of the dash support.

Frame support, basically it is a frame for the upper part of the body.

This is a picture in regards to a discussion we had at the Iowa build clinic. Just to show that I'm using an older frame.

Should have the tranny plate next weekend. Also the frontend design is under go, my teamate Opie is designing it in AutoCADD. Front end should be complete within a month.

Also brakes for the rear are on the agenda as soon as I get everthing in place for the sprockets on the rear shaft. I had a picture of the whole i cut in the frame for clearance for the sprocket doesn't seem to want to load up. So more pics will come about, i'm kinda dragging my feet on this build I should order mower stuff so I can get the dern thing done.

Heck...half the fun is building and fabricating! Why buy when you can build!

Good job on your dash support!

Heck yes, just about 75% of the lawn mower racing season (calling lawn mower racing season year round) is spent building your mower, the other 25% of season is spent racing and fixing your mower. So if I build my own stuff and it breaks I can blame my self. And I think it is fun as heck to build my own stuff, I do use ideas from other mowers but I can still call it mine seeings how I fabricated it.

Finally got this darn picture to load up with out half the dumb thing being grayed out.

The whole cut in the back plate for the rear sprocket clearance. I still may cut the other side for the brake, try to give the outside a clean look. Anyone with a suggestion why I wouldn't want to do this, i've seen other that have done it on one build then have not on there others.

And the rear brakes..... I will be running front brakes but I haven't done a lot of shopping yet to find out the best price. Anyone with any suggestions feel free to let me know. Also a good proportioning set up, again suggestions are welcome.

As far as front brakes go I think Don at G-Team has a pretty good price on the BTS he sells, did you talk to him at the build clinic?
