Team RPM Racing C/P Build
« on: February 11, 2007, 10:06:02 pm »
Well here goes nothing, i've been in the process of building this C/P class racer for around a month but due to technical problems with taking pictures I haven't got much of any pictures taken. Also involved in this build is my teamate Opie, not pictured yet.

Another thing before I get started, I would like to thank Cycloneracer, George, Squidd, MOWERMANN RACER, Skeeter, and Don at G-Team for helping me get as far as I have on this build. Your input indirectly on Mowbetter or if I have directly contacted you has been a huge help.

Below is a picture of the frame with the stiffeners welded in and axle mounted.

Below is a pic with the mock up front end installed. The frame sits up around 4 1/8" off the ground to theoretically pass thru tech easily. I'm going to be ordering a EC front end and a couple of other items, but haven't quite had the time to call them up.

Due to sponsorship I have decided to go with this type of hood. I like the vented hood better but money talks.

I have both hoods so I figured I would give you guys a look.

Kind of hard to place sponsorships on this hood.

Looking good!!! I do like the look of the solid hood but the vented one is more agressive looking to me.

What will you be running for driveline?

Very nice build so far

i like the vented hood as well, but i mostly like the side panals. will they work with the flat hood?

I talked to Don up at G-Team and he is going to be hooking me up, I'm using a 28 CI 14.5 hp I/C for this build, but due to a trick up Don's sleeve it will actually come up to be a 31 CI. My teamate and I will be using identical mowtors.

And for the tranny, i'm going to be using the varible speed, HAHA heck no. I will be using a peerless 700.

And yes Paul that is a 69 SS clone, 396 power plant.

And a little something other I have laying around is a 67 SS clone, 454 power plant, This one is a little radical

Yes Phil the side panels will work

The solid hood with the side panels is the way to go!!! Looks great that way!

I'm just a little concerned about getting some cool air in there.

A few tools around the shop

mans best friend the Plasma Cutter

bentonite grease's worst nightmare, an essential for race prepping a tranny

Millermatic, what more do I need to say.... Awesome machine

Another thing that really simply is prolly the best invention known to man (Blasting Cabinet) HAHA

Chop saw, YEAH....... I couldn't live with out it.

In reguard to the air circulation, it crossed my mind.... I guess if it comes down to it I might have to tell my sponsor to pound sand... :noplease: Not a thing to do, but really don't want to blow my motor.

a note on the air cooling of the mowtor, you could get yourself one of these:

they can be found at Mid West Super Cub

The puller guys use them to cool down their super modified stock altered engines.

With a single and it being OHV you should have no cooling issue's even with the side panels we run them with twins and have no issues.
