Put motor back on frame wont turn over
« on: July 08, 2014, 02:32:59 pm »
Hey my 16 horse was just put back on the frame and now it wont even turn over. I hooked up the wire for the starter the green wire and connector and the other white connector. I'm pretty sure that's all that I took off I didn't touch anything on the motor itself for wires while it was off please help I just wanted to do a test run with the motor to make sure its going to run for next Saturday race

Dead Battery???

Are we supposed to guess what "the green wire" and "other connector" are?

On a 1948 simplicity the green wire went to the automatic ditch clutch on the transaxlemission sensor for the hyper speed gauge.....but that wont cause the frame not to turn over?

To turn over the engine needs power to the starter, and a good ground....is the engine bolted on?
Why was the engine off the frame? Did something get painted where there shouldn't be paint? ?

My guess is when I dropped the mower it ripped the wires. Can I just unplug that connector to bypass it or what I'd check but I'm at the hospital wit my new baby :)

Congrats!!
Info man...Boy? Girl? size? name?

Safety switches work different ways, some you can just unplug, but most of the newer ones you have to short the wires together.
Where do the wires go?
Once you put the thing back together as a racer you will want to rewire it anyways, junk all the stock wiring!
