Yes with aftermarket cam and EC springs, you will have to cut spring pocket on intake valve for EC dual springs

Just on the intake? Is their a tool made to be able to do this at home or is a trip to a machine shop in order?

Unless you have a mill it will require a trip to the machine shop. I'm sure some do it other ways but that is the correct way to do it.
