We are going with 3:00 on Saturday and 1:00 on Sunday. Sign in will be at the track.
No night race, We have a band in the infield that night. We will only have a night race if the weather acts up and we do what we have to
Here is a link to the story a local radio station is doing on the event

I forgot about the band!!!!

And a reminder......

For all who are coming from the west on I-80.   I-35 south is still under construction, so it is tight and congested.   Leave yourself some extra time.   Also don't forget when you turn off the four lane there is a 90 degree turn at the bottom of the hill on the off ramp.   SO USE CAUTION!!!!   It is a nasty intersection and will catch you off guard if you come flying down the ramp!!!

My plan is to be there Thursday to help with the track.  So if you get there Friday there will be someone there to help you park.

Any questions let me know!!!

STA-BIL Midwest Summer Nationals

STA-BIL Series Racing Coming To River Bottom Raceway, Carlisle, Iowa, June 28-29, 2014

We've hosted some of the largest mower count National Point races in the history of the USLMRA and sure would like this one to be bigger and better than ever!

On Saturday and Sunday, June 28-29, The Central Iowa Lawn Mower Racing Association (CILMRA) will host the 3rd Annual STA-BIL Midwest Summer Nationals for two days of sod stomping at the River Bottom Raceway in Carlisle, Iowa, just outside Des Moines.

CILMRA web site
http://www.cilmra.com
CILMRA Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Central-Iowa-Lawn-Mower-Racing-Association/171920732888385

This is a Double Header Weekend with a complete STA-BIL Series Race schedule on both days.  If you have a racing mower, it is deemed to be safe and passes Tech Inspection, we will find a class for you and you will race.

Schedule for Saturday June 28th
Registration 10am - 1:00 pm

Tech 10:00am - 1:00 pm
Driver Meeting 1:30 pm
Practice (mandatory) 2:15 pm
Racing begins at 3:00 pm

Schedule for Sunday June 29th
Registration 9 am-11:30 am
Tech 9 am -11:30 am

Drivers Meeting 11:45 am

Hot laps (mandatory) 12:15 pm

Racing begins at 1 pm

PLEASE NOTE:

Racers will pay a $20.00 fee, which covers insurance, pit access, rental of one transponder and computer timing & scoring.  Additional transponders rental is $5.00.  Drivers may use the same transponder for different classes, as long as transponder switch does not delay start of a race.  Drivers will be allowed to bring 2 additional pit crew or family members into the pits for $5 each to cover pit access and insurance. ALL other persons must pay $20.00 for Pit Access. All pit passes are $20 for 2 days.

General Admission into the Grandstands will be $5 with children 10 and under free. Pits will be open at all spectators following the last checkered flag each day to meet the drivers and look at the machines.

Yellow Banks Park is a county park about 10 miles north near Pleasant Hill and is a nice park some racers enjoyed last year and does have electric sites, shower houses and takes online reservations for 9 campsites, the rest are first come. Electric camper sites are $19/night, tent sites are $13/night.

Webb RV Park is a private park about 9 miles east of the track. All 50 sites are full facility (50 amp electric, water, sewer, shower house). Rates are $30/night and this was a popular place for fans and drivers to stay last year. A short drive on a gravel road but all who stayed here last year say it was worth it.

Can't wait!  Didn't make last year's, and I have been itching to go ever since.  Carlisle was technically my first race in 2012, heckuva place to cut your teeth on!

...and then Curt handed me this fancy gallon plastic jug with all those cinnamon sticks in the bottom.  My life's never been the same.  :D
