Bigger Carburator
« on: April 26, 2014, 09:43:27 am »
I'm building a Wheel Horse Racing Mower and the carb on it's 11 HP Briggs is junk. I am going to replace it, but got thinking and am wondering if I could get more power out of it with a bigger carb. I have a 10.5 HP carb sitting around but I'm hesitant to put it on because I would lose 1/2 of a HP. Any ideas?

Hp ratings mean nothing, it's all in the jetting.

Okay thanks. So I could put a 10.5 carb on an 11 HP and jet it to get more power?

He's saying the hp on the sticker doesn't reflect the carburetor. It's a rating. Do some research on the  website there's alot of info that may help you.
