Can you use a rack and pinion on a prepared chassis?

As far as I know, racks are not allowed in the USLMRA.

Really? I thought they were, just undesirable. Well, I guess I used up my one time a year being wrong early this year

Ed I am going to consider that a mulligan..  You now still have that "one time a year to be wrong" left still..
Use it wisely..   :P

I THOUGHT THAT YOU CAN IMPROVE YOUR STEERING IN ANY WAY. SOUNDS LIKE AN IMPROVEMENT TO ME. YOU CAN RUN THEM UNDER ARMA.

So, I may be partially wrong, but not totally wrong, which in turn, does not make it right, but is not wrong either. So, I am still good for the year.

A small rack will work fine but I like big racks to be honest.

No really we have one in a FXS with a quickner and its a very nice set up. They use them in Jr Dragsters, ARC sell them.

I was thinking of using one and called the tech people at USLMRA. The answer is that the rack and pinions are not legal in the USLMRA in any class. It will not pass tech if you have one. Steering quickner/reducers are legal.

So it appears I am now back to being only partially correct. I can accept that.
