Ok guys after over a year of hard work and planning we are proud to host a national race at Ellerbe Lions Club Speedway. This is not only a national race but a benefit race for my daughter Taylor Crouch. She was diagnosed with JRA(Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis) when she was two. She is now five. She is one tough little girl but it's a battle she will have to fight for the rest of her life. All donations will go to the JRA foundation. Ellerbe has a great clay track with the best crew around to make sure the track stays in perfect racing condition. You will race in front of hundreds of fans and be treated with true southern hospitality. At the track we also have a pond for fishing and a play ground for your kids. There is plenty of room for camping but no hook ups. Will post motels soon. We look forward to having all y'all here to race. Keep checking for more details to come. A tentative schedule is Friday May 23th the track will be open for anyone who wants to come and see the facility and drop your trailers. Saturday will be a night race as we have permanent lighting and Sunday will be an afternoon race. For any questions you can call me at 910-995-0750. Thanks. Rex crouch Jr.

That's awesome!  Another national race in the south.  I'm sure we'll have a group from the ARLMRA attending.

We are extremely pleased and excited to be able to host this event. There is not a better group of racers anywhere to race with...very hospitable and friendly. Additionally...this is probably the best weekend weather wise all year. Generally very comfortable...warm but not hot. The race track itself is undergoing improvements as we speak. Chief Steward Kermit Perkins is hard working and is known for giving a great racing surface. The track itself is high traction, similar to the clay at the All American down in Stevenson Alabama. It is high speed, and virtually dust free. There are excellent permanant lights, as most racing in the Carolinas is at night due to the heat. With the large local group of racers...this event could easily be the highest attendance of the entire year. We hope yall will go ahead and pencil this one in on your racing calender. It will be here before you know it.

Work is progressing nicely...Chief Steward Kermit Perkins is spreading many loads of very good clay...super tacky, and holds moisture very well. Traction is NEVER an issue here.

A quick update....Work is progressing nicely at the track..Chief Steward Kermit Perkins has been working dilegently  as time is getting shorter. The tracks regular racing season starts late in March. There are several local races scheduled before the Ellerbe Nationals, so you should  come race with us and get a leg up on the competition by getting familiar with the racetrack and meet the competitors. Yall will never race with a better group of guys. Additionally..there has been a great response to this race and  folks are coming from far and wide to compete. We look forward to seeing yall too!

I was asked yesterday to post the racing schedule for 2014 for Ellerbe. These are the LOCAL races. March 22, April 19, May 17, June 14, July 12, August 9, September 6, October 4, November 1. Each race has a scheduled rain date a week later if inclement weather intervienes. Chief Steward Kermit Perkins makes the final decision to race by noon. He is known far and wide for his wizardry at making a wet track raceable.

Work is progressing nicely. Had a lovely weather today for a workday and had a good crowd to show up to work. First race  is just around the corner and the Ellerbe Nationals will soon follow. Need to make plans to attend now.
