"DRIVER'S" Seat Retaining Thing-a-ma-bop
« on: February 02, 2007, 09:48:39 pm »
Can't think of the proper name to call it.....It's the plate or bar that is attached to the seat of a racing mower (right side) to prevent our butt from sliding off while making left hand turns on a race course.

My question: Is this secured directly to the seat, seat mount or both?
What type and thickness material have you used.
Any photos will always help!
Thanks!

i use 1/8 alumin mark and cut to match the bottom line of seat. clamp it to it. Then drill 1/4 inch holes and bolt it to the seat with 1/4 inch bolts and nuts. Then useing the strip off an old seat that holds the cover on I glue it to the top exposed edge so it has  no way of cutting you in an accident.

I used a 1" 90deg EMT Electrical Conduit Elbow from Home Depot($4) , welded on some brackets, Got the yellow foam tube at Wall Mart($1)...and bolted it to the seat...the most expensive thing was the yellow electrical tape($6)
....keeps my big keester in the pocket.

I am going to use a "thigh support" off of an old wheel chair. It is just what I can get.
