Wide or Narrow????
« Reply #15 on: December 13, 2013, 12:02:32 pm »
Ok.... If I use  the wider wheel and tire  combination , how do I determine how wide  of tire I need?  Is there a way to figure this out or do you just put the biggest tire you can fit?

Oh yea I am not going to be running a prepared  chassis been there done that.....it will be a supermod of some sorts

I am not trying to make a decision  right now, I am trying to learn the theory behind  deciding tire and wheel combos.....

And depending on whom, you run with US and I believe ARMA require the same size on both sides. BTMRA and the AAMC it doesn't matter to us.
That's the way this class should be open w/o tire and wheel size limitations.

Ron,  I'm glad to hear your thinking about getting back in racing. Supermod is the way go and stagger is your friend that's the easiest way to make them turn nice.  Like George said depending what organization tire has to be the same size. I ran 10" dia wheels on mine because I could get micro sprint tires cheap most everyone is using 8"   The last time I seen you was at Phatbottom but you weren't racing at the time. I don't run super anymore I went with a mini late model and love it. Its safer for an old man like me :D

Paul if they looked like a cyclone I would have to find away to convert over... That would be awesome. Even If I had to lay more back than up right the cyclones are simply a fine looking lil car!!!
Sorry Ron back to your thread now!!!

Absolutely!!!! I agree  maybe not be as extreme as karts but at least let us run different sized wheels with same size tires.

I went with a mini late model and love it. Its safer for an old man like me :D

They are definetly a lot SAFER!

Sorry Ron back to your thread now!!!

Oh you haven't stole it ;) you never know where the conversation will lead.

And no offense to the Mini late model guys but they do kinda look like a Carnival ride  besides that why would you build a chassis like that and not use a horizontal shaft engine ? Or run racing tires?  I mean they aren't remotely close to a lawn mower.
