US 2014 Rules
« on: November 05, 2013, 08:43:35 am »
I have to applaud the USLMRA for the direction taken in prepared classes to ensure the safety and well being of the drivers. allowing the seats lower and 40" sure will help in all these roll overs. Will sure help make them more stable. I know not all will like it but if we cant slow em down this is the next best thing. NOW if ALL Sanction body's and clubs will adapt the sport will make some great strides. THANK YOU US for taking the initiative.

The first I heard of these rules changes was at the finals in Ohio this year.  At that point they were proposals, and not in the book.  Now that the 2014 rules are out you can clearly see the steps taken to keep the sport moving forward and in a safe direction.  I will be taking the opportunity to widen my mower to the allowed width.
You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race!  Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one!  Chassis too!  But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster!  I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying!

Thanks to the National Staff for getting these out early this year. I gave them a quick read and some of my questions have been answered. THANKS!

Love the extra 2" width and the seat rule, should make for safer racing all the way around.

What are the chances of ARMA following suit?

You can now lower your seat into the fenders but only to a minimum of 13" from ground to bottom of seat.

Lester you asked if ARMA was going to follow this?

ARMA already allows you to be 13 inches off the ground by letting you run 6" wheels on back. seat can be no lower then top of tires. this took care of a lot of tip over problems already. Plus you wont have to hack the crap out of your fenders to do it. Being this low already takes away a lot of the need for extra width. But I would say that I like the idea somewhat of couple inches wider. :twocents:

That's the one I was wondering about.
