vtwin identification and carb help
« on: October 30, 2013, 11:41:02 pm »
I just got an 18-20 HP twin from a generator I'm gonna be putting in a golf cart. The carb does not have any air/fuel adjustment. I assume this is a preset to run at 3600rpm. What kind of carb do I need to look for to where I can run this through an rpm range instead of the 3600 it was setup to run at

The carb you have is fine. It has a set linkage that you need to replace with your throttle control (gas pedal).

What does the throttle linkage look like that I need and where can I get one. I'm not sure about the billet flywheel. That's on the pull start side I'm assuming

You do realize that this engine has a tapered crank? I have heard of conversions but have never seen one.

Yes I'm aware of the tapered crank. I'm gonna use the armature from the generator side to make an adapter to fit
A polaris clutch.
