The right Kohler coil has been proven to take 11,000 rpm by MWSC, however the smart spark coils are junk

I've soldered main jets before, it works fine.
May be some other options-
#26,28 or 30 kohler carb.  Or a KT 17 carb. All are fully adjustable, but I don't know if they
would work for you or not, maybe someone here does.
If that carb has a removable main jet you may be able to use a high altitude
jet, should be a little leaner and you could drill it out some if you had to.

So if you have an arc flywheel with a Kohler coil, I'd venture to say that's your issue. Look into reading the info in the link below

That may have something to do with it? I was under the impression to had a MWSC wheel and Kohler coil

well kind of cleared up my top end today... I took and tapped a bowl plug and threaded a needle into the bottom of it so it could restrict fuel flow to lean it out a touch and it worked great.  Plug is burning like it should but I'm still going to put that carter 30 on it and run it.  Can't quite get rid of the low end hesitation but hopefully that carter will help me out.... Thanks for all the input guys
